My primary goal is to be a reference librarian who has the versatility to aid patrons with research, teach information literacy, conduct readers’ advisory, and develop a rich library collection. Additionally, I am interested in learning about maintaining and troubleshooting integrated library systems.

Experience 

Substitute Public Service Assistant; North Olympic Library System in Sequim and Port Angeles, WA

June 2006 to present

In the Sequim and Port Angeles branch libraries I fill in for any position that is vacant: public service assistant, check-in, and page. I assist patrons with reference questions both in person and via telephone. I help patrons to renew and place hold requests for items. I check out, shelve, and mend books.

Owner/Manager; Van Dijk Miniatures in Sequim, WA

July 1996 to present

I own and manage a dollhouse miniatures business. Our miniatures have been given the highest honor bestowed by the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA). Our business web site is www.vandijkminiatures.com.

High School Teacher; South San Antonio Independent School District in San Antonio, TX

November 1990 to May 1992 and August 1994 to June 1996

I developed the curriculum for and taught courses preparing students for the reading and writing portions of the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) test.

I taught first and second year German and freshman English. I was the sponsor of the high school German Club.
