XML for Commuters This is the XML that would make up the advertisement that our intrepid used car dealer is going to post on his web site: Mitsubishi EVO VI Gr.A 2000 10 70,000 Euro 1 year front wheel 4 18,000 none suspension turbo intercooler digital dashboard V8 STAR Passat 2001 8 80,000 Euro none rear wheel 2 14,000 front end wrecked front end Reynard 93D 2002 6 85,000 Euro 2 year all wheel none 12,000 transmission engine The data presented in the "Commuter" scenario represent the information that someone would want if he or she were thinking of purchasing one of these cars for the daily drive to work. Its document type is an advertisement, something that a car dealer might run on a web site. The basic information about each car--make, model, year--will be necessary for both this scenario and the second. I included info in this first situation that would answer the questions a commuter might have. She would want to know how many miles per gallon the car gets; whether it has rear, front, or all-wheel drive; how many miles are on it; how many doors it has (especially if the person is going to carry other passengers in a carpool); and its damage and repair history. (Note that the used car dealer calls repairs "upgrades"!) She would also want to consider the car's price and warranty before making her decision. (I made up some of the figures in this scenario, like the miles per gallon, just to make it more complete).
